The new Honda
S2000 for 2008 has a 2.0 ltrr engine, DOHC VTEC 4 cylinder
design producing 240 horsepower and 162 lb ft of torque. The new
2008 engine meets California's strict Low Emission Vehicle
standards.
The new Honda
S2000 four wheel, inwheel double wishbone suspension system consists
of upper and lower wishbone arms at each wheel, with coil over
spring/damper units and anti roll bars. The high X bone mono-coque
frame is a central tunnel that runs down the middle of the cockpit.
The tunnel serves as a backbone and main load bearing structure
for the new S2000, the new 2008 body is high side diagonal
(X) bracing at the front and rear of the cockpit.
The
2008 Honda S2000 features a digital instrument panel
display, the display features a large, bar-type tachometer divided
into 100 rpm increments and flashes red when the engine red-line
is reached. A highly visible digital speedometer is below the
tachometer as well as readouts for coolant temperature, fuel level,
trip and cumulative mileage odometers and indicator lights for
SRS, oil pressure.
The Honda
S2000 ( 2008 ) features a power operated soft top with a
glass rear window equipped with a defroster. Pushing a switch
on the center console opens or closes the top in about 6 seconds.
When raised, latches at the top of the windshield hold it securely.
When folded, the top stows compactly behind the cockpit.
The new Honda
S2000 is comfortable to sit in, offering contoured seats in leather
and increased cabin room overall. The seat back's side bolsters
extend all the way up to the shoulder for good lateral support
when cornering. Seat adjustment is manual and includes adjustments
for fore and aft position and seatback angle. Legroom is ample
and the textured-metal foot pedals complete the feel of sitting
in a race car.
