There are
six new 2008 GMC Sierra pickup truck models. The base
model is the GMC Sierra® 1500 Series, equipped with a Vortec
engines, including the 4.3L V6, 4.8L V8, and the 5.3L V8 (additional).
The top-of-line model for 2008 is the GMC Sierra 3500
Series and is available with a Vortec 6.0L V8, Vortec 8.1L V8,
and the DURAMAX 6.6L Turbo Diesel and the Sierra Denali models
which comes as an automatic and AWD Extended Cab Short Box with
QUADRASTEER with Vortec 6000 V8 is standard.
New
for the 2008 GMC Sierra is a Driver Information Center
which includes trip odometer and message center and monitors numerous
systems depending on vehicle equipment level including low fuel,
transmission temperature, low engine coolant level and oil change
notification. The new 2008 GMC Sierra instrumentation pannel includeds
an analog, includes speedometer, odometer with trip odometer,
fuel level, voltmeter, engine hour meter, temperature, oil pressure,
tachometer and blue backlit lighting. Seats are front tone-on-tone
leather seat inserts power reclining full-feature buckets, head
restraints, overhead console, floor console, power lumbar, dual
inboard armrests, heated driver and passenger cushion backs, 2
position memory and storage pockets.
The Regular
Cab 2WD 1500 GMC Sierra for 2008 includes a Vortec 4300
V6 (standard) with 200 horsepower or Vortec 4800 V8 (available)
with 270 horsepower or a Vortec 5300 V8 (available) with 285 horsepower.
There is only one transmission option for the new GMC 1500 Sierra
(Electronic four-speed automatic with overdrive and five-speed
manual with overdrive are available, depending upon engine, body-style,
and configurations, and are subject to emissions requirements)
The 1500
Extended Cab 4WD 2008 GMC Sierra comes with two available
engines; Vortec 4800 V8 (available) with 270 horsepower or a Vortec
5300 V8 (available) with 285 horsepower.
All new 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 models come with a Short
Box or Long Box. And as a, Regular Cab 2WD, Sierra Regular Cab
4WD, new Extended Cab 2WD or as an Extended Cab 4WD.
