The new 2008 Acura TSX sports sedan has a powerful 16-valve 2.4 ltr
DOHC LEVII engine with a light-weight aluminum block and head.
The 4 cylinder engine is a i-VTEC which helps the engine put out
200 horsepower and a peak torque of 166 lb ft at just 4500 rpm.
Acceleration is fast and powerful across a wide rpm range and
at the same time, i-VTEC helps improve fuel efficiency and reduce
exhaust emissions. On the new Acura TSX a balanced shaft system
helps to cancel engine vibration and precise drive by wire throttle
control results in a more direct foot pedal feel. The Acura electronic
direct ignition helps extend the scheduled tune up to 110,000
miles. The new 03 2008 Acura TSX is available with either a close
ratio six-speed manual transmission or a five speed Sequential
Sport Shift automatic transmission. Both TSX transmissions are
designed to get a broad torque band out of the 200 hp engine.
The 2008 Acura TSX compact six speed manual offers lightning
fast shift action, and a short clutch pedal stroke makes changing
gears seem effortless.
The 2008 Acura TSX has a four wheel independent suspension. The new Acura
TSX suspension is optimized with firm springs and gas filled dampers
front and rear which offers a flat cornering stance and a stable
ride.
New 2008 Acura TSX technology gives precise handling and control. A steering
torque sensitive, variable assist rack and pinion steering system
provides sharp responses. And stopping was steady and firm with
the four wheel disc brakes, and a standard 4 wheel Anti Lock Braking
System. Standard Vehicle Stability Assist helps retain steering
control for both oversteer and understeer and the Traction Control
System helped the front wheels maintain acceleration. At higher
speeds the aerodynamics of the new Acura TSX performed like it's
more expensive competitors. Standard on the TSX is 215 / 50 R
17 Michelin all -season high -performance tires and mounted on
a 17-inch, 5-spoke alloy wheels.
The 2008 Acura TSX interior seats a driver and four passengers.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in leather and the eight
way power driver's seat offers adjustable lumbar support and firm
side support and holding. The steering column tilts and telescope.
There was ample head and leg room for both the front and the rear
passengers. The rear seat will fit up to three adults, out of
all the new sedans in it's class the new Acura TSX had plenty
of back seat room in relation. Also there is a center armrest
with dual beverage holders which folds down. The rear seatback
splits 60 / 40.
Standard
in the new 2008 Acura TSX is a premium sound system which includes
an AM/FM Stereo receiver and an integrated six disc in dash CD
change, 360 watts of power comes from a separate amplifier unit
and eight speakers. The external antenna is etched into the rear
window on both TSX models, three switches on the left of the steering
wheel allows for easy control of the audio system.
